Getting our Voices Heard

Today in class, Alex said, "Being part of a community is not just about living there. It is about your actions."

Take a moment to think about what you can do(actions to take) in your community and how to get your voice heard.

Post below the community topic/issue you'd like to work on before Thursday's class.

Take a look at these photos from our community walk. Answer the following questions:

1) What do you notice about the community from these photos?
2) What do the photos make you want to DO?
3) If you had unlimited money and materials, what is one thing you would do for your community? Why?

Congratulations of completing your ELA exam! Have a safe and relaxing weekend. See you Monday.

Community Action

Yesterday in his inauguration speech, Obama said, "For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. " He also said, "All this we can do. All this we will do. "

Your questions for today:

1. What kind of "work" is he talking about?
2. Do you agree with Obama that we can do all this? Why or why not?
3. What would you do to make your community a better place to live?

Don't forget to sign your name at the bottom of your comments!
